Dr. Miriam Stankovich

IP & AI Policy Expert

Dr Miriam Stankovich (Mirjana Stankovic) (PhD, LLM) has rich research experience in leading complex projects in IP Law, Technology Law, Innovation, Industry 4.0 (Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Big Data, Fintech and 3D Printing), regulatory impact analysis, and Technology Transfer.  Through TIV, she has also served as a senior legal and regulatory advisor for major international organizations: International Telecommunication Union, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), OECD, World Bank, International Finance Corporation, UNIDO, UNCITRAL, UNIDROIT, Inter-American Development Bank, African Development Bank, European Commission and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. She is a highly sought-after speaker at various international fora on some of the most complex challenges in innovation, especially in regulation of disruptive technologies.


Dr. Stankovic was a Fulbright Scholar in Intellectual Property and Technology Law at Duke University School of Law, and a World Bank McNamara Scholar in Development Economics, Intellectual Property Rights and Tech Transfer at Duke University School of Public Policy. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles, books, monographs, book chapters, laws, and government reports in the areas of international intellectual property, technology transfer, innovation, and policy and regulation of disruptive technologies. She has a Ph.D. in Development Economics, an LLM summa cum laude, International Intellectual Property Law, Chicago Kent College of Law, and an LLM, International Business Law, Central European University. She is fluent in English, Macedonian, Serbian, Croatian, Bulgarian, conversant in French, and has basic understanding of Russian and Ukrainian.
