TIV enables commercialization of an AI-driven platform for early disease risk detection

Tambourine Innovation Ventures (TIV) partnered with a healthcare technology startup working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and precision medicine. The company’s vision is to improve outcomes for patients who remain at risk of developing severe secondary conditions following intensive treatment for primary illnesses. Detecting these conditions early is critical, as they often present late, when options are limited and outcomes are poor.

The client developed a novel AI platform designed to analyze complex biological and clinical data over time, identifying subtle changes that signal heightened risk of disease progression. By forecasting these changes before symptoms appear, the platform empowers clinicians to intervene earlier, tailor monitoring strategies, and improve patient quality of life. Beyond its immediate application, the platform has broad potential for expansion into other high-risk populations and age-related conditions.

TIV supported the client by strengthening their capabilities in securing competitive NIH funding opportunities. Our team conducted targeted funding research, crafted a compelling grant proposal aligned with NIH’s priorities, and guided the client through the technical and administrative requirements of the application process. We also collaborated on defining project milestones, clarifying commercialization pathways, and positioning the platform’s impact within the broader healthcare landscape. Through our partnership, the client successfully advanced their NIH SBIR application and built greater in-house expertise to pursue future funding opportunities. This engagement not only improved their immediate funding prospects but also laid the groundwork for sustainable growth by helping them refine their value proposition and commercialization strategy.

This work marks continued efforts by TIV, working under the auspices of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC), where  TIV continues to assist pioneering scientists and entrepreneurs with technology commercialization. This programmatic support helps innovators bridge the gap between breakthrough ideas and market-ready solutions, enabling projects like this one to move closer to real-world impact.
